PRIYANKA KARKI WITH A CHILD AND VERMILION

Priyanka Karki and Arpan Thapa are currently busy shooting for their new film ‘Anagat’ in Phutung VDC. Being directed by Samten Bhutia, the film shows the dynamics of a relationship between a husband and a wife.Arpan, who plays an artist in the film, is the husband around whose suspicious nature the story revolves. Thapa’s character Suresh believes that his wife Kriti (Priyanka), is planning to murder him. The mental trauma that follows is explored in the film. The ‘Anagat’ team has been shooting in Phutung VDC since last week.
Priyanka, who has been part of different genres of Nepali films, hopes that with ‘Anagat’ she will be seen in a whole new light. Playing Kriti has been challenging for her, she says, adding, “I’m hopeful that the audience will see me differently after this film because of my character and the story of the film.”
Director Samten Bhutia has worked on the film for a long time. He believes in taking his time to make a good film and has been to different places for location recce before settling down in Phutung near Shivapuri National Park. He says, “Everyone is making commercial films. But I believe that we should actually be making more art films if we can to raise the standard of Nepali films. In ‘Anagat,’ I’ve tried to incorporate different aspects of arts.”
